Design for 3D Printing

 For my test print I decided to make use of this time to try out one of my potential avenues for the chess set. I know I want to make them stamps but I was toying with the idea of making them self inking.

I found a file on thingiverse that looked like it would work for what I wanted and I tried it out!

The results were successful, with the one caveat being that the mechanism requires a spring, an ink pad, and a stamp piece, to truly function. This was to be expected, but having this physical version of it made me realize the cost and effort it would require to make the mechanics function so smoothly. It also occurred to me that it would be a real undertaking to print out 32 self inking stamps.
